It’s Christmas Time

This song is overplayed and it’s easy to filter out the lyrics, but it carries a strong message. I try to read the lyrics without the cheery song playing in my head and think of it as a letter to my conscience.

1: It’s Christmas time
There’s no need to be afraid
At Christmas time
We let in light and we banish shade
And in our world of plenty
We can spread a smile of joy
Throw your arms around the world

Pray for the other ones
At Christmas time it’s hard

Is the bitter sting of tears

There are the clanging chimes of doom
