The Conservative government launched an attack ad, which is to be expected in the build-up to an election. What was not expected, however, is that they used copyright music without the copyright holder’s permission.
Some would argue that an immediate apology to the copyright holder and the public would be reasonable, but the pro-copyright reform Minister decided instead to completely ignore a question about this, which was asked twice.

Under the category of “what the fuck?” comes this article outlining an agreement between the US and Canada to import each other’s troops in the case of a civic emergency.
Questions have been raised as to why this is required: It is common for one country to offer another military assistance in times of need, such as Katrina, and we don’t seem to have had a problem.
The apparent secrecy of the deal has caused many conspiracy theories. In perspective this might be nothing to be too concerned about: Harper’s government is always secretive. It’s a sign of a good democracy, when nobody knows there’s anything to get upset about or new policies to debate.
Still though, it makes you wonder.
