Frustrated by a lack of transparency, changing excuses and an avoidance of interviews from the Canadian government, CBC decided to find its own information on arms exports from Canada. As it turns out, our exports have risen considerably since the government stopped producing its annual report on arms exports, and our customers include Saudi Arabia and China. Cool.

This is something started by the Liberals and continued by the Conservatives.

I disagree with Bill Maher on some major points, but agree with him generally (healthcare good, war bad, education good). Here is a clip from a recent show.

It appears that we’re all going to die. NASA have published this time-lapse video of the Arctic ice melting. This video shows a nine month period, starting in January 2007.

Obviously a degree of melting is natural – we’re watching winter turn into summer. However, this much meltin is far beyond what has been seen before.

I left some comments on the BBC News website regarding a story they published about Amnesty International condemning death by lethal injection in the States. Amnesty International argues that doctors swear an oath of ethics and should not be asked to perform such an act.

I think this is an interesting story which raises other questions: Much of the discussion is around Texas, as they kill off more prisoners than any other state. In Texas abortion is legal, and Assisted Suicide is illegal. I expect any court case would bring these points into consideration, as they both require a doctor to end life in some form.

A man called from the BBC studios in London, UK to ask if I could take part in a panel discussion on their radio show that was due to air in 35 minutes. Unfortunately, I was at a building site with a cell phone that barely had a signal, people drilling all around me, and was in the middle of an important task.

So, I had to decline the BBC’s offer of including me on a radio show panel.

Damnit.
