Blackpool was once a favourite holiday destination for Brits wanting to be beside the seaside for their summer trip. Miles of beach, arcades, hotels and gift shops keep tourists busy through the day, and theaters, restaurants, bars and variety shows occupy the visitors at night. It’s legendary.
Blackpool today feels like the shell of a “tourist town that was”. Buildings are in disrepair, signs are unpainted and shops are closed down. I really felt that, with just a bit of work, it could be brought back to its former glory.
That said, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. I’ve never been before, and could not have hoped for better company for the trip.
I loved it.

David thought this looked like a giant vagina/vulva and demanded I photograph it.
I never did find a Public Telephone sign that was being honest with me.
The Ultimate Super Hero, now available in cheap plastic toy form!
A British classic! I was thrilled to see this! Donkey rides along the beach.
Something you just HAVE to do one a holiday to England: Walk along the beach with a bag of chips and gravy in your hands, fending off the seagulls as you eat.
